BRIC offers a wide range of courses to improve your skills and qualifications; from understanding Universal Credit to studying Business Administration online.

 

Preparing for Universal Credit
Course Dates: Fri 29th June  1pm – 3pm
Course Length: 7 weeks
Details: Find out more about the impact of Universal Credit on your circumstances, what the changes are and how you can adapt, as well learning new skills to cope better with the changes.

Online Forms and Creating Documents
Course Dates: 
Mon 21st May  1pm – 3pm
Details: Learn about how to create word documents, and how to amend and save them to your computer.  Find out how to complete online forms, whether it be insurance documents or details for the DWP.

Touch Screen
Course Dates:
Wed 27th June  1pm – 3pm
Details: Let us show your how to use your touchscreen smartphone or tablet. Using your mobile phone, smartphone or tablet computer is often easier than using a keyboard and mouse. Come to our brand new workshop with your device.

Using Email
Course Dates: Tue 10th July  1pm – 3pm
Details: 
Create an email account or learn how to use an existing one.  Find out how to send and receive emails, as well as attaching and opening documents and photos.

Online Security
Details: Learn how to stop viruses, malware and spyware, identify phishing emails and spam, as well as the damage they can do. Find out how to shop safely online and to recognise safe sites. Explore security settings for social media and how to stay safe online.

Microsoft Word
Course Dates: Wed 20th June  1pm – 3pm
Details: 
Discover everything that Microsoft Word offers, including using text tools, changing font styles and sizes, correcting grammar and punctuation, formatting text and  aligning text, as well as saving and printing document


Retail Skills – Level 2 (Over 19’s only)
Course Start Date: Mon 14th May    9.30am – 2.30pm
Course Length: 7 weeks
Details: Gain the skills and knowledge needed to start your journey into the retail sector, including.
– How to work effectively in a team.
– Provide excellent customer service.
– Methods for dealing with customer queries and complaints.
– How to create product displays.
– The importance of Health and Safety and how to put it in place.
– Food Safety and hygiene.
– Ways for performing promotional campaigns

Distance Learning Courses Level 2 Certificates (Over 19’s only)
In conjunction with Sunderland College! Work at your own pace within the course timeframe and study in the comfort of your own home, with support when needed. Online and paper-based methods are available, so give us a call to find out more.
